SD Card Requirements for Stenograph® Writers
Choosing the right SD card helps keep your writer running properly and ensures your files are saved and backed up correctly. The NexGen, Luminex II, Luminex, and Diamante writers require SD cards with a minimum capacity of 4GB and can support SD cards up to 32GB.
Quick note: Always confirm both the Data SD card slot and Backup SD card slot for your writer model before purchasing media.

Important for NexGen users: The Backup SD card slot is recessed. A Backup SD card must be inserted in the Backup SD card slot in order to use the writer.
Standard SD Cards and microSD Cards
A standard SD card is the larger card commonly used in the Data SD card slot on the Diamante, Luminex, and Luminex II writers. A microSD card is the smaller card used in certain Backup SD card slots and in both SD card slots on the NexGen writer.
A microSD card can also be used as a standard SD card when placed inside a microSD card adapter.

Stenograph® recommends SD cards from trusted brands such as SimpleTech, Verbatim, Kingston, and SanDisk. Other high-quality SD cards may also be acceptable, but using dependable media is important when saving and backing up your work.
Luminex II Write Protection Message
If the Data SD card inserted in the Luminex II Data SD card slot is write protected, the writer will display the following message:
Data SD card is Write Protected. Writing is not possible until you unlock the card.
To continue writing, unlock the SD card and reinsert it into the writer.
