This is a nice older writer that has been totally refurbished and has a shimmed lower depth of stroke. if you are a student and want to start with a professional machine that can display notes and English, then you might consider the 8000LX. It does have a floppy drive that can be used as a backup in a professional setting. You can use this with any CAT software system including Plover, the free open-source system.
